EH! 2012 Party

Last night we got an awesome VIP access to EH! 2012 party to celebrate the top 20 young malaysian artists who are "Anggun & disenangi" (fabulous & likable). The party was held at The Pool, Ampang which is just 5 minutes away from home so we had our own sweet time to get ready..

I know i said 'sweet', but truthfully for me it was a nightmare! with these new pair of giant boobs and elephant sized hips, i can no longer fit in my old dresses! Everything (and i mean every damn piece) is just either too small or too tight. It feels like i went through a stranger's wardrobe! So yes i had a few melt-down moments where i collapsed in a corner and cried.. wishing it will all go back to normal..

it is hard ok? nowadays when i look into the mirror, i dont see me. I see someone else. Someone who is not as pretty and as sexy as she was before.. BOOHOO!

Anyways my husband managed to calm me down and lift my spirit back.. with his sweet charming words (lies). So i decided to wear my vibrant yellow dress, paired with my current favourite blue necklace ( since the dress code says "Fresh POP colors"- whatever that is!). the party was awesome but out of a house full with local celebrities, i only knew 2 of them- Zizan the comedian and Mizz Nina the singer. Well, forgive me for not having a slight interest in malay drama or music (except for those that are really good!)

Ps. we were disappointed Aaron Aziz was not listed in top 20. how can that bulky & gorgeous man lose to any of these 18 unknown artists??? how???

Our 2nd appointment- 8 weeks

As I told you earlier, my gynea Dr P is a man. It is awkward at first to lie down and open up your uterus for another guy with your husband standing next to him. But on my second visit, everything feels normal (from unbuttoning your pants, get half naked in a room with 2 men and lying down with your hip wide open welcoming a probe to be insert into you...err).

I am thankful to have him as my doctor. He gives good advise to young mother like me who used to jog or travel often. He is funny and he talks to you like a buddy and the best thing is he remembers me although this is out second appointment. (My husband and I must have left quite an impression with our silly questions during our first visit HAHAHA)

Anyways here is how 8 weeks old look like. Utterly remarkable~

OOTD 17112012

One of his relatives getting married today, so I decided to pair up the 2-layered kaftan top that I got for RM 30 (USD 10) in Bandung with my leopard-print skirts for this occasion. Ta-daa! Appropriate and modern looking baju kurung :). I even had a ring clip on one side of my kaftan to create asymmetrical top- hence makes me look skinnier (or at least i felt so)!

Ps. For Malay wedding, it is a custom for the female guests to wear the traditional Baju kurung or kebaya.

Penang

It is end-of-the-year Couple Getaway! Hooray!

My husband surprised me with a trip up north- to a piece of island called Penang. (well, to tell the truth it was not really a surprise. penang has always been his favourite destination, since it is his dad's hometown).

The best way to go to penang is via north-south highway, yes it will cause you on average 3.5-hour butt cramp but it is simply worth it! the scenery along the highway is simply breath taking from waterfall to luscious green valley and limestone hills. where else can you get all 3 in a row? this. is. truly. malaysia.

Anyways, what to do in Penang?

1. For the locals, Penang is actually popular for its food especially nasi kandar (mainly briyani rice with  a mix of everything else- 2 to 5 kinds of gravy and side dishes!) and we personally love the one served in 'Line Clear'. A little store located somewhere along the alley of Penang Rd. The queue was never ending even at 5pm!

2. The beach- Batu Feringghi. the beach is clean and well kept by the hotel owners. it offers various kind of activities that you can either do in group or alone such as banana boat, jet ski ride, para sailing & horse riding! the best thing is, you can bargain the price and get more discount :) but i heard it is pretty much fixed for tourists..

3. Historical Buildings- if you are into photography then this is a plus point for you! Otherwise dont even bother to look up when you are at the city.

4. Relax. We stayed at Holiday Inn, Batu Feringghi and couldnt ask for a better bedroom for the price we paid! and at night our entertainment is either live band at Hard Rock (5 mins walk from holiday inn) or quiet dinner at straits quay (15 mins drive), where all the rich people park their expensive yet elegant yachts for others to envy!

Minecraft- we just got pixelated

My little cousin, aged 10, is highly addicted and obsessed with this game called Minecraft where the display looks exactly like the 1st generation of Mario brothers game or pacman that we played on PC- like Gazillion years ago! everything in the minecraft world is actually made of cubes or giant legos. go check it out, i bet the first thing you would say is 'there must be something is wrong with my laptop screen display'

Anyways, his addiction has made his father to surprise him with Minecraft exhibition in Paris later this month! And he plans to turn up at the exhibition looking like the character in the game! So we had some fun trying out the "outfit" :P (and no the outfit doesn't come with boxed underwear or tee)

Break the news #2

These days, i kind of precisely know what i want to eat. like last friday i wanted noodle soup only from old town cafe.

Today, I'm craving for ice cream cheese cake so I thought 'why don't we surprise them (my in-laws) with a cake that says "congratulation!"- I got to eat, and they got a beautiful surprise ;)

So, we went to our favorite icecream cake store- Baskin Robbins 31. Normally we have to pre-order for strawberry cheesecake flavored cake because it is rarely available at the counter. But today is a blessing!!! (Except for the counter lady who has no idea how to spell "congratulation", and I had to correct her spelling twice!) -_-

Anyways as we broke the news after dinner time, my in-laws seem to be more interested on the cake rather than the little one......

.......

....

.

Next time, never ever surprise them with food.

Break the news #1

After 3 days of keeping the wonderful news to ourselves, we finally decided to break it to our parents-starting with mine.

"Ma, what are you doing tomorrow morning? We plan to have breakfast with you & pa"

"Nothing. Ni mesti ada apa2 ni. apa dia? (there must be something going on. what is it?)"

whoa! a mother's instinct is really sharp. it scares the hell of me. whenever she is at it, it never fails to make me feel as if i had done something wrong (well i did. i misplaced her favorite hijab that she lend to me awhile back! oops. hope she doesnt read this.)

So we had breakfast at Asam Pedas restaurant in Bangi and indulged ourselves with typical malaysian breakfast of high-calories food as early as  8 am. then later we showed them the picture of their future grandchild and we all sat there silently looking at each other and congratulated one another on the promotion- from mama to grandma, from papa to grandpa and from couple to parents. i was almost in tears when i saw the happiness in their eyes. then out of sudden, mama laughed..

"HAHAHA i cant wait to see you become a mother. now you will know how i feel for the last 24 years"

(??? really ma? u have to bring that up?) -_-'

Fire Drill

I easily got annoyed with people these days (maybe the hormones) especially when someone ask me to do something and then later ask me again what i am doing or keep on asking me to do the same thing over and over again. seriously? let me give you an advise, to be a leader you need to inspire people. dont just do the big talk, be an introvert if you must as long as you deliver and have trust on your peers (staffs). Plus, women are like elephants- they NEVER forget. so tell me once and you know you will see the result soon. just have some trusts.......!

anyways, i think i know why i am a bit grumpy today. just imagined i had to go to the consultant's office in the morning (because my friend ask me me a favor) just to submit and review document which should take a maximum 20-30 mins but ended up walking down from level 15 all the way to ground floor in a jam-packed emergency staircase which felt like i was in a confined space and slowly dying from asphyxiate! then i had to stand under the scorching hot sun while carrying my 7kg bag pack for about half an hour. the worst thing is after all this was over, one of the safety officer came to me and said  "Patutnya visitor tak payah participate. the exercise was not meant for the visitors". oh wait, that was not the worst part.. the ULTIMATE worst thing was that my friend knew about the fire drill exercise all along and only to warn me a second too late.

Just because I am pregnant..

My husband has been nothing but a dear (and highly protective) of me after the baby news.

"Starting today NO HEELS, NO BUBBLE TEAS, NO TIGHT PANTS and NO SEX (what????). I dont want to poke the baby's eyes.. "

He even wouldnt let me carry anything heavy even a bag of chocolate in case it would be too much of a burden for me and baby. He would even help me to get out of bed and made the bed. The best thing yet is that i could even ask for a glass of water through whatsapp and he would have it delivered within a minute. Pregnancy brings out the worst of me. i am extra lazy and sluggish these days (i even had this blog typed in bed with one eye closed, oh wait i should call him up to type this for me. my fingers are very delicate now that I'm pregnant *HAHAHA*)

OOTD 071112

I don't believe in looking good in expensive outfit. I believe in colour, design and fittings. The cheaper the better ;) but once in awhile I do splurge if I can't find cheaper alternative..

I'm wearing 3 for rm10 earrings from ampang park, kaftan from Eden (which I got it for 70% off from isetan sale. What a bargain!!), ZARA basic pants and super comfortable nude heels from marks & spencer.

Trip to the doctor

I constantly felt pain down there and nausea during my trip to Bandung in the last 3 days. There were also a couple of times where I almost fainted due to the endless walking while carrying hefty lots of shopping bags. Not forgetting countless trips to the changing room since I can no longer fit into S sized tops or UK8 pants/ skirts (SHOCKING!) There has to be an explanation to this. Is it obesity? Because I dont think i am obese despite my romantic relationship with junk foods before bed..

So i secretly did the urine test to check whether I'm carrying more than shopping bags through out the trip and oh-my the stick is not helpful, it showed 1 clear pink strip and 1 very vague strip only after 5 mins. So what does this say? I could be pregnant 5 mins after?

We set an appointment at 315pm. My husband was really anxious to find out whether his hypothesis was correct or otherwise. So we confronted to a male gynea (yes, congratulation dr! You are the second man to see my precious) at prince court hospital and trust his expertise. And ladies I have to warn you always make sure your garden is well trimmed before a visit to gynecologist, ALWAYS.

As I laid down on the bed (half naked- bottom half that is) with two men standing opposite of my precious I couldn't help but to blush! It was awkward but in the name of science I opened my legs wide and proud. Dr P then inserted a fully lubricated lobe (no, it was not pleasurable) and soon after we saw something moving like a heart beat. He then switched on the audio and the beating rhythm was fast and strong. He turned to my husband and said "congratulation! that's the embryo. It is about 6 weeks old"

The best feeling ever.

And the best look on my husband's face ever...

Mad shopper on treatment

It was random. About a month ago my friend and I decided to travel to Bandung for a girls-only shopping trip! We've got so much bundle-of-joys aka money that are not meant for saving, countless annual leaves for rainy days (in this case, stress relieved shopping trip) and bf/husband that are fully occupied with their own activities. So a girl needs to do what is best for them and best for the world (economy)... Shop till you drop!

We took the first flight out and arrived at Bandung, Indonesia (or also known as shopping paradise) around 7am local time. Most shops open at 11 am so we had 4 hours to kill before we are at war.

The first mall we headed to was Paris van java. It was HUGE. You can find some good quality, local branded dress and blouse at reasonable price! Next stop was the popular Rumah Mode factory outlet. This is personally my favorite. You can get original branded stuffs for as low as USD 8. But u need to be careful as not all items are original. Only true shopaholic has the eyes to tell them apart ;) besides rumah mode, there are about 5-6 others factory outlet along the same street which offer variety kind of clothing at a super-low price. Trust me, Bandung gives a whole new definition to 'shopping'.

Day 2: we were told by the locals to check out Jalan Riau and Jalan Dago for more FOS. And oh-my-god we spent 6 hours in Riau alone and 2 hours in dago without stop for lunch! The shops were amazing with a mix of modern and traditional touch which simply creates a relaxing shopping ambiance for the crazy shoppers like our kinds.. Thus explain why we buy more than we need!! After all that heavy lifting shopping, we decided(very much needed at this point of time) to rejuvenate our body and soul in full body massage at zen spa. The facilities were high class but the charges were eye opening! USD 9 for an hour full body massage! Say what??

Day 3: since our flight home was scheduled at 8 pm, we decided to do light-and-easy shopping instead, before we go off. But little that we knew, our next destination will cost us additional 15kg of check in luggage! 'Pasar baru' is the place to go in Bandung! It consists of 7 levels with thousands of little shops that invites you to bargain until you surrender and buy! We spent over 6 hours in this mall before called it quit and We even got lost a few times in this mall despite our excellent degree in shopping. So lesson learnt for future bandung shoppers, if you like it, then buy it because it would be almost impossible to find the shop again...

We had so much fun during our 3-day trip in Bandung and each one of us spent about USD 500 (which equivalent to 2 and a half mega sized check-in luggage!) and at the end of the trip I felt pain as if something stretch my uterus..
